Trumpeter Torrentes 2009
Blackberry and cinnamon aromas give way to ripe flavors of cherry and red currant. The richness of fruit gives this wine a soft texture with supple tannins. An excellent food wine.
The grapes are sourced from the Maipu district of Mendoza about 2,600 feet above sea-level. The 24 year-old vineyards receive plenty of warm, sunny days, cool nights and mild harvest wich allow for gradual ripening and an optimum level of maturity. Hand-tended and hand-harvested, the Rutini family's high altitude vineyards provide the foundation for Trumpeter.
An intensely aromatic and distinctive wine with predominant aromas of white peaches, and hints of jasmine and rose. This summery white wine displays a pleasant freshness with citrus notes and a long, full finish.
